Beaver Fest is coming to Calgary’s North Glenmore Park for an afternoon celebrating beavers, healthy watersheds and the local community with live music, food, family activities, snacks and plenty of beaver-themed fun.
The free event will take place overlooking the Glenmore Reservoir, so you can spend some time outdoors while learning why these little dam builders are actually pretty important to the environment.

What is Calgary Beaver Fest?
Calgary Beaver Fest is a new fall festival hosted by Land Lovers Network that celebrates beavers and their role in healthy watersheds. The event is designed to be fun and educational, with live music and family activities set up throughout the afternoon.
Why beavers?
Beavers may be famous for their dams, but those dams can have a big impact on the surrounding landscape.
By slowing and storing water, beaver dams can help create wetlands and provide habitat for fish, birds, amphibians, and other wildlife. They can also help keep water on the landscape longer.
During the festival, you can learn more about those relationships and how healthy beaver habitat connects to bigger issues like drought, flooding, biodiversity and water quality in Southern Alberta.
What can I do at Beaver Fest?
During the event, you’ll be able to listen to live music, enjoy food and drinks and family-friendly activities. You’ll also have the opportunity to chat with local conservation and community organizations about beavers and wildlife and learn more about efforts to restore beaver habitats around Southern Alberta.

The event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, from noon to 6 p.m.
Where is Beaver Fest?
Beaver Fest will be hosted at Vista Point in North Glenmore Park, a lookout area along the Glenmore Pathway system overlooking the northern shore of the Glenmore Reservoir.
Is the event free to attend?
Beaver Fest is free to attend, but organizers ask that you register online ahead of the event. When you register, you’ll have the option to donate if you’d like to support the festival and the work behind it.
While beavers might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a fall festival, Beaver Fest is giving these busy little builders a chance to shine in the spotlight. So bring your family to North Glenmore Park this October and learn about some of Calgary’s hardest-working wildlife.
