25 years after Harry Potter, Lego is celebrating with a 3,500-piece set

5 August 20262 Mins Read

Harry Potter debuted in bookstores with the 1997 release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (titled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the U.S. when it was released stateside a year later). It was adapted into a film in 2001, and Lego is celebrating 25 years of Chris Columbus’ Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone with a brand-new set complete with nearly 3,500 pieces and 14 minifigures.

The Ministry of Magic set features a cross-section view of the underground London office that Harry, Hermione, and Ron visit later in the series. The top part is the street-level entrance, complete with a tube station entrance and a bright red telephone booth needed to access the Ministry of Magic. (Kids, if you’re not sure what a “telephone booth” is, ask your parents. They’re old enough to know.)

The set contains several recognizable locales and some Easter eggs. Arthur Weasley and Dolores Umbridge’s offices, the Ministry’s courtroom, and the Hall of Prophecy are all packed into the set. You’ll be able to reenact scenes from the books and films with 14 minifigures for characters like Harry and Voldemort. It also includes the first-ever minifigre of Arabella Figg.

Get a good look at the Ministry of Magic set in the gallery below.
