Travel Tech Hosts Velocity Ventures for Start-Up Meet-Up on Building Investable Travel Tech Companies

3 September 20262 Mins Read

In Brief: Travel Tech organized a Start-Up Meet-Up featuring Velocity Ventures to facilitate connections and discussions on building investable travel technology companies, underscoring the sector’s focus on fostering start-up growth and attracting investment.

Travel Tech Association (Travel Tech), the unified voice for the travel technology ecosystem, this week hosted its August Start-Up Member Monthly Meet-Up featuring Velocity Ventures’ partner Nicholas Cocks for a discussion on building durable, investable travel technology companies in a fragmented, AI-driven market.

The program, “Building Investable Travel Tech in a Fragmented, AI-Driven Market,” explored how founders can position their companies amid shifting market conditions, including geopolitical fragmentation, AI disruption, evolving traveler behavior, and changing buyer and investor expectations. The conversation drew on Velocity Ventures’ 2H 2026 Strategy & Investment Outlook Report and gave Travel Tech’s Start-Up Members practical insight into how investors are evaluating opportunities across the travel technology landscape.

Members submitted questions in advance for Nicholas Cocks and the Velocity Ventures team, whose responses offered a focused look at the issues shaping early-stage travel technology companies. Watch Nicholas’ video discussion below.

“Nicholas gave our start-up members a practical investor perspective on building durable companies in today’s travel technology market,” said Bethany Reitsma, Senior Manager of Industry Relations at Travel Tech. “Discussions like this strengthen our start-up community by giving founders direct access to insights and relationships that can help them grow.”

Through its Start-Up Membership Program, Travel Tech connects pre-seed and seed-stage travel technology companies with peers, industry leaders, and investors. Programming includes monthly Start-Up Meet-Ups, quarterly Start-Up & Investor Connects, founder and company visibility opportunities, and the annual Start-Up Summit.
