Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel has reopened on the Riva degli Schiavoni in Venice. The hotel includes Palazzo Dandolo, Palazzo Casa Nuova and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior.
Palazzo Dandolo was built in 1471 as the residence of the Dandolo family. Palazzo Casa Nuova was formerly home to the Treasury of the Venetian Republic. Palazzo Dandolo and Palazzo Casa Nuova were renovated by interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon.
The hotel reopened with 120 rooms and suites. The total number of accommodations is scheduled to increase to 168 after restoration work at Palazzo Danieli Excelsior is completed in 2027.
Rooms and suites overlook the Lagoon, Venice’s canals or the city’s rooftops. The renovated accommodations include expanded Junior Suites and One-Bedroom Suites, as well as larger layouts. Some suites have living areas and connecting-room options.
Guest room technology includes a media wall incorporating a television, automated curtains, customizable lighting scenes and climate controls. Interior materials include Murano glass, terrazzo flooring and Rubelli textiles. The design uses celadon green, blue, terracotta, ochre and powder pink tones.
The lobby in Palazzo Dandolo features a restored hand-painted, gilded quatrefoil ceiling set against an azure background. Columns, stonework and the grand staircase in the space were also restored. The hotel’s artwork collection includes intaglios, Venetian engravings, antiqued mirrors and decorative objects.
Terrazza Danieli, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, overlooks the Lagoon and San Giorgio Maggiore. Its updated interiors include pastel hues, azure accents, muted gold tones and mirrored surfaces. The outdoor terrace uses terracotta tones associated with the building’s façade.
Executive Chef Adriano Rausa presents Italian cuisine with Venetian elements and seasonal ingredients. Some dishes are finished tableside. The bar serves classic cocktails with contemporary adaptations.
A Danieli Spa is scheduled to open in late 2026. The spa is planned to include three treatment rooms, including one for couples, along with a sauna and hammam.
