14 October 20263 Mins Read

In Brief: HVS reports on key hotel sales and investment activity across Europe for the week ending 9 October 2026

  • Novotel London Greenwich – Image Credit Accor

Generator acquires Novotel London Greenwich from Ares and EQ

Hotel-hostel operator Generator has acquired the four-star, 151 room Novotel London Greenwich in the UK from global investment manager Ares Management and European hospitality investor and operator EQ Group. The property is situated across the River Thames from Canary Wharf, close to the Royal Observatory. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar and six meeting rooms. Following the acquisition, Generator will rebrand the hotel as Generator London Greenwich from 1 January 2027, then carry out a phased renovation starting in spring 2027 that introduces its hybrid model of private and shared rooms. Ares and EQ acquired the property from Landsec in 2024, as part of a £400 million, 21-property portfolio.

LRO Hospitality acquires Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh from CVC Marathon

LRO Hospitality, a joint venture between London + Regional Properties and Dutch pension fund manager PGGM, has acquired the four-star, 240-room Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh in the UK from a fund managed by global asset manager CVC Marathon. The hotel includes a restaurant and bar and is situated a short walk north of Edinburgh’s old town and Waverley train station. Following the acquisition, L+R’s own brand Iconic Hotels & Resorts will take over management of the hotel.

CapMan and AP Pension acquire Scanic Webers in Copenhagen from Jeudan

CapMan Real Estate, the real estate arm of Finnish private equity firm CapMan, has acquired the four-star, 152-room Hotel Scandic Webers in Copenhagen, Denmark, from Danish real estate investment company Jeudan through its 50/50 joint venture with Danish pension company AP Pension, via its CapMan Nordic Real Estate IV fund. The hotel is situated in central Copenhagen by the main train station and includes a restaurant, bar and three meeting rooms. The JV plans to extensively renovate the hotel. Swedish operator Scandic Hotels will continue operating the hotel. This marks the joint venture’s second acquisition, following its purchase of the four-star, 366-room Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers in September 2026, as reported in this newsletter.

Extendam sells Ibis Styles Paris Montmartre Nord

French private equity firm Extendam has sold the three-star, 45-room Ibis Styles Paris Montmartre Nord in France to a family of industrialists. The hotel includes a breakfast restaurant and is situated in Paris’ 18th district, 2 kms north of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Extendam acquired the hotel with its operating partner MyHotels in 2019, and fully renovated it in 2021. Following the sale, MyHotels will continue to operate the hotel and will remain a co-investor alongside the family.

Yurbban Hospitality Group acquires Allegro Barcelona

Spanish owner-operator Yurbban Hospitality Group has acquired the three-star, 56-room Allegro Barcelona hotel in Spain. The property is situated in central Barcelona’s prime Eixample district, a short walk from Passeig de Gràcia and Plaça de Catalunya.
