IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Hotel Indigo Stockholm – Kvarnholmen, marking the first Hotel Indigo property in Sweden. The hotel is being developed by Kvarnholmen Utveckling (KUAB), a joint venture between Peab and JM, and will be leased and operated by 1912 Hotels under a franchise agreement with IHG.
The hotel will be located in Kvarnholmen, a waterfront neighborhood in Nacka on Stockholm’s eastern shore, which is being transformed into a new urban district. The location offers access to the Stockholm archipelago and the city center.
Scheduled to open in 2029, Hotel Indigo Stockholm – Kvarnholmen will feature 232 guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, wellness and recreational amenities, 150 square meters of meeting space, and social areas. The property will also include a rooftop pool and terrace, spa and gym facilities, and an internal atrium with green space.
The hotel will join IHG’s portfolio in Sweden, which includes voco Stockholm – Kista and Ruby Frida in Stockholm. IHG currently has 13 open and pipeline properties across the Nordics.
There are 54 open and 22 pipeline Hotel Indigo properties across Europe. Recent openings include Hotel Indigo Gloucester – The Forum and Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush, both in the UK.
