‘The Maw’ skulls and terminal locations in Halo Campaign Evolved

29 July 20263 Mins Read

Much like every other mission in Halo: Campaign Evolved, there are three skulls and one terminal to find in “The Maw,” which is the final mission of the main campaign, excluding the three bonus levels that are new to Campaign Evolved. After abandoning the now-infected Captain Keyes in the aptly named “Keyes,” it’s up to Master Chief and Cortana to end things once and for all.

Here are all the skull and terminal locations in “The Maw” in Halo: Campaign Evolved.

Terminal: Arrival

  • Objective: Make your way to the Autumn’s bridge.

From the start of the mission, plow through all the Flood, Covenant, and sentinels in your path, until you reach a larger room with a blazing fire at the back and a few benches in the middle. Against the right-hand wall is where you’ll find the Arrival terminal.

  • Description: Weapons continue to reload while stowed.
  • Objective: Get to engineering via the cryo storage facility.

After Guilty Spark shows back up, keep following the objective on your HUD until you find a room with four cryo chambers in it, along with a bunch of sentinels and Flood enemies fighting.

In the back left corner, there will be a fire. Hop on the ramp next to it, then jump across the two small support pillars to find the skull.

Skull 2: Boom

  • Description: Explosion radius is increased by 2x.
  • Objective: Expose cores and destroy them with a grenade or rocket.

When you make it to the huge open area with the four cores you need to destroy, go up the ramp on your right, then take a left and enter the door in the far corner. Follow the path around on level two until you exit and “Piston D” is on your right-hand side. Jump over that piston, along with its cousins, E and F, then look to your left.

You’ll be able to see a small platform with a cube-shaped piece of debris on it. Jump over to it, then crouch and squeeze between the debris and the wall. You’ll be able to see the Boom skull at the end of the narrow ledge in front of you, so drop down to it and keep crouching until you reach the end.

Skull 3: Thunderstorm

  • Description: Upgrades the rank of most enemies.
  • Objective: Escape from the Pillar of Autumn before it’s too late.

The final section of this mission has you driving a warthog through the decaying Pillar of Autumn, mowing down Covenant, Flood, and sentinels alike as you go, all against a time limit. You’ll enter a tunnel very early on which has optional doors to enter on the sides. The second one of these paths is where you’ll find the skull. Drive down it then hop out halfway along to find it resting on some charred ground.
