U.S. Hotel RevPAR Rises 4.4% Week Ending Aug. 22

In Brief: U.S. hotels recorded a 19th consecutive week of positive year-over-year comparisons, with RevPAR rising 4.4% for the week ending Aug. 22.

According to CoStar data, U.S. hotel occupancy reached 66.7% in the week ending Aug. 22, up 2.1% from the comparable week in 2025. Average daily rate increased 2.3% to US$159.11, while revenue per available room rose 4.4% to US$106.12.

Among the Top 25 hotel markets, San Francisco recorded the largest occupancy increase, up 13.2% to 79.1%, and the largest RevPAR gain, up 26.0% to US$165.00.

St. Louis, host of the BMW Championship, posted the largest average daily rate increase among the Top 25 markets, with ADR rising 11.4% to US$135.43. Occupancy increased 10.5% to 66.8%, and RevPAR climbed 23.1% to US$90.53.

Las Vegas recorded the largest declines in occupancy and RevPAR. Occupancy fell 17.4% to 60.0%, while RevPAR declined 20.0% to US$95.15.

New York City reported the largest ADR decrease, with rates falling 6.8% to US$262.63.
